Committed to Quality

All teachers at Community Preschool have college degrees, CPR and First-Aid certification, and are fully qualified by the Virginia Department of Education to teach preschool. Each class is co-taught by two teachers to maintain a low child to teacher ratio.


Jennifer Runion

Ms. Jennifer

Preschool Director
Class: 3-day morning

Ms. Jennifer has been teaching at Community Preschool since 2001. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from James Madison University with a double major in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Prior to her tenure at Community Preschool, Ms. Jennifer taught kindergarten for 12 years, and spent nine years teaching at another private preschool. She enjoys young children and teaching them about science and art. Ms. Jennifer and her husband Chris live in the Bridgewater area and have two adult sons.


Lisa Moomaw

Ms. Lisa

Classes: 2-day morning, 3-day morning

Ms. Lisa has been teaching at Community Preschool since 2007. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development from Ferrum College, and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Tech. Prior to teaching at Community Preschool, Ms. Lisa taught elementary school for seven years. She enjoys working with young children in many creative ways, and is a mother of two Community Preschool alumni. Ms. Lisa and her husband, Thomas, live with their two sons in Rockingham County.


Wendy Rhodes

Ms. Wendy

Class: 2-day morning

Ms. Wendy was an assistant teacher in the 2-day class and substitue teacher for 3 years at Community Preschool before becoming a lead teacher in 2021. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Mennonite University in Nursing, and brings a passion for helping young children learn and grow. Ms. Wendy is the mother of three Community Preschool alumni, and lives with her family in Rockingham County on her family’s farm.
